Tikkun Olam - Repairing the world - Community Outreach
Just some of the charities that TBE has supported!
Temple Beth El participates in a Mitzvah project designed to supply food to our neediest neighbors. Currently, we participate in produce packing at Meals on Wheels located at 811 23rd Avenue East, for homebound seniors. For many people, this is the only fresh food in their diet. If this sounds like a project you might be interested in joining, don't hesitate to get in touch with ChrisAnn Allen at chrisanntbe@gmail.com
TBE is proud to have been a part of building our community, one nail at a time with Manatee's Habitat for Humanity. Habitat strives to be an active part of supporting Manatee County by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. Their vision is to have a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Feeding Empty Little Tummies is dedicated to feeding Manatee County’s most needy – homeless and food insecure students – one backpack at a time! There mission is to pack and deliver meals for food deprived children in our community and to eliminate hunger and meet the nutritional needs of the children in our community. TBE collect non-perishable food for donating.
Temple Beth El collects toiletries for "Our Daily Bread", a food bank dedicated to providing for the nutritional needs of the poor and the needy of our community in the context of compassion and affirmation of their human worth. Bring your sample size or hotel size shampoos, body wash, hand soap, etc. to the temple. We take it from there!
The Blessing Bags Project works with those less fortunate in the community and especially focuses on the basic needs of children. Each year, Temple Beth El collects toys for the holidays so that every child feels love.
Temple Beth El made and delivered over 10,000 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to the Salvation Army in Manatee County. The Salvation Army helps Individuals in many ways including shelter, food, money, clothing, counseling and services.
